math4life Teacher Trainings to be held July 22-23 for elementary & July 24-25 for middle school

West Virginia’s math4Life initiative is a comprehensive and intensive statewide effort to improve student mathematics performance throughout the state over the next five years. The WVDE seeks to work with counties and schools throughout the state to institute best practices, challenging pedagogy, and student engagement strategies to improve students’ mathematics achievement.

Teachers will discuss/review/"own" state academic standards.   The purpose of the meetings is to create a county math framework and determine textbook alignment.  Other topics may include vertical planning, identified math challenges in teaching and learning, mathematical habits of mind/thinking skills for life, networking, ways continue to build content knowledge, technology, best practices, and resources we use to supplement the current math program.

Please visit the math4life website:  https://wvde.us/math4life/) for more information about the five year intensive and comprehensive statewide effort.

More details about the July training will follow.
