for yourself, someone you know, or someone you don't know.

The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)

is here to help you.

The Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity wants you to know that you or someone you know may qualify for one of many programs funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) that President Obama signed into law to stimulate the economy.

West Virginia received $11 million through the Community Service Block Grant to expand or create programs to reduce poverty, revitalize low-income communities, and empower low-income families and individuals in rural and urban areas to become fully self-sufficient.

The programs address employment, education, better use of available income, housing, nutrition, and emergency services that create and sustain economic growth.

A network of sixteen Community Action Agencies across the State provide related services that create a foundation to change lives through personal, social, and financial assets.

If you or someone you know wants to find out who is eligible for one or more of these services, please contact the Community Action Agency that serves your county (below) or Julie Palas at the number listed below.
