Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) & e-Rate
All persons within the school system should be familiar with the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA) which establishes guidelines overseeing Internet use in the schools. In particular, it addresses protecting students from accessing potentially inappropriate material online and from the disclosure of personal information about students on the web. Failure to comply with these guidelines could result in the county losing the eRate funding that provides affordable Internet services for all schools. Visit the Children's Internet Protection Act website for more information.
