William Milleson - RHS Class of 1942

  • Football standout at HB and S
  • Set all-time individual scoring record for one game - 31 pts against Berkeley Springs
  • Led the team in scoring with 77 points
  • All-PVC and All-Area 1941
  • Football - Scholarship to VPI (now Virginia Tech) - started 5 games and Hokies won all 5
  • Left school after sophomore year to become a decorated Navy pilot in WWII

William Manross - RHS Class of 1948

  • Football and Track - 3-year letterman
  • All-PVC as Jr. and Sr. at G
  • West Virginia Class B "wee" All-State Team 1947
  • Awarded gold watch as RHS Outstanding FB Player
  • Football - Played Shepherd College 4-years
  • Named Shepherd College Outstanding Football Player
  • 1986 Shepherd College Hall of Fame Inductee
  • Track - Set RHS record in 100 Yard Dash as Senior
  • Never lost a race in the 100 Yard or 220 Yard

Garry Long - RHS Class of 1950

  • Football - standout
  • 1949 West Virginia Class B State Champion Football Team
  • Recovered opponent's fumble in the game to help secure win
  • All-State 2nd Team as a Senior 1959
  • Basketball - 2-year starter as Center

Dick Sirbaugh - CBHS Class of 1957

  • Basketball - 4-Year starter at G
  • Scored 39 pts. against Woodstock (VA) as a Sr.
  • 1957 Outscored Gale Catlett (West Virginia University) in CBHS's loss to Hedgesville in the Regional Championship
