1. What is the Dolly Parton Imagination Library and how do I sign up for free books?

Children can get books free each month until they are 5 years of age.  The books are furnished by the Dolly Parton foundation and in West Virginia, the program is administered by the June Harless Center at Marshall University.  To find out more and learn how to enroll your child see https://wvde.us/west-virginias-imagination-library/faq/.

2. What is ReadAloud West Virginia and how do I become a volunteer reader?

You apply to become a volunteer in the school system and take the ReadAloud WV training when it is offered.  Then you get assigned to a school/classroom to read to the students as needed. For more information check out ReadAloud West Virginia website.and complete the application to become a reader.  Then you will also have to complete the application to become a volunteer in one or more Hampshire County Schools.  The local contact is Patty Lipps, Director of PK - 8 Curriculum and Title I.
